Baby, It's Cold Outside

Okay, so I know that we haven't it the bottom yet temperature wise, and that others of you have colder, we have started to experience the beginnings of winter in central Indiana. It seems like one day it was in the 40s and now we are in the 20s. I really don't mind the cold until it gets down to single digits, in fact I kind of like it as long as I'm dressed for it.

I haven't posted here for a couple of weeks, but I have been getting my runs in. In my first sub-20 long run two weeks ago, I learned a valuable lesson: keep your bottles under your outer later. Why? because after about an hour and 15 minutes, the spout will freeze. That's a bit of a hassle, but not as much as carrying water that you can't drink.

I have missed a few runs lately. There was the 30+ mph wind day that I opted for the stationary bike (the treadmills were lined up 3 deep and limited to 20 minutes) and the day I forgot my hat and gloves (DOH!). Otherwise despite, an out of town swim meet weekend, a busy month at work, and a big home improvement project, I've kept on track and even added in some extra days on the bike. I even took advantage of the swim weekend to explore the University of Louisville. I was impressed. It was a nice campus and the sports facilities were phenomenal!

There will be more challenges upcoming with holiday travel, celebrations, end of year vacation....but the goal is to 'go postal' and get my workout in rain, sleet, or snow.

Artist for Song in Title: My current favorite version is by The Brian Setzer Orchestra, although the Dean Martin version with the cigarette line is interesting.
